Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC) is a Statutory Body that came into operation on 1st August 1987 by virtue of the powers vested in the Sri Lanka Inventors Incentives Act No 53 of 1979. As per the Act, the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission shall consist of a Commissioner and two Assistant Commissioners appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers on the recommendation of the Minister of the line Ministry. SLIC Promotes the inventiveness of the nation by providing technical, financial, and legal assistance.

Currently, we are an Institute under the purview of the Ministry of Education.
