Promoting and facilitating nations’ innovations are the main responsibilities of the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC). Commission conducts several programmes with the intention of promoting innovative culture within the future generation. Commission has identified that the students of schools, universities and tertiary education institutions are playing a vital role in the process of promoting innovative culture throughout Sri Lanka.
SLIC has initiated a programme to reach the students of schools, universities and tertiary education institutions by establishing young inventors clubs within their educational institutions. SLIC has established more than 500 no of young inventors clubs by conducting relevant awareness programmes throughout Sri Lanka.
When establishing an inventors club SLIC provide financial support to purchase basic tools/ equipment and promote inventions and innovations. Special opportunities such as awareness of inventions and patents are also beneficial to the young inventors of schools, universities and tertiary education institutions.
